A cross-company number can reassure a manager that they are above average while explaining none of the operation. The more useful comparison is a similar part of the same portfolio under conditions you can inspect.
The principle
Comparison is fair only when the constraints are visible.
Retrieval time depends on parking distance, elevators, lane geometry, key control, guest cohort, service promise, request timing, labor rules, and what the metric includes. Two properties can operate equally well and produce different numbers.
