Convention guests do not depart like leisure guests. A closing session, checkout deadline, or airport schedule can synchronize decisions that would otherwise be spread across a day.
A modeled archetype
Ninety minutes is the scenario, not a reported incident.
This post does not describe a named hotel, a particular convention, or a measured valet event. The ninety-minute window is a deliberately severe model for examining synchronized demand without inventing an operator's results.
The public scale is real: Las Vegas reports convention visitors in the millions. The inference is that a large event can align many departure decisions. What follows is queue design for that archetype.

Build the wave backward from the final handoff
The curb, not the garage, determines how many completed retrievals can become departures without blocking the next one.
→A staged car that cannot be handed off is not finished work. It is inventory occupying the most expensive part of the system.
The control board needs four states
During a surge, detail is useful only when it changes the next decision. The shared board should make the bottleneck obvious.

Demand has entered
The request is ordered and visible before the guest crowds the stand.
Retrieving
Work has an owner
One attendant owns the vehicle, preventing duplicate pulls and radio collisions.
Ready
Curb inventory is finite
Ready cars are counted against actual handoff positions, not wishful capacity.
Closed
The lane is released
Completion means the vehicle and guest have left the handoff position.

Where Valletto changes the math
A surge is manageable only when everyone sees the same queue.
Request-ahead, explicit ownership, and a live ready-state let the operation spread demand and release vehicles at the rate the curb can absorb.
The takeaway: synchronized departures cannot be solved by telling everyone to move faster. The winning move is to make the wave visible early, then meter it through the real bottleneck.
